Service bosses had been making plans to sell its county offices in Parkside Court off Hall Park Way and relocate the service.

Amid the uncertainty a 60-place on-site nursery closed in August 2018 with the loss of 20 jobs after the operators were given notice by HM Land Registry to terminate the lease.

Telford & Wrekin Council leader Councillor Shaun Davies said: “I am delighted to learn that the Land Registry’s Telford offices will remain and I would like to welcome their commitment to remain here.

“This further supports the borough’s growing reputation as a centre for digital and IT companies, and follows the support provided to Land Registry by the Council. We have worked closely with the government and the unions and have supported the Land Registry’s employees as much as possible throughout this process.”

The Land Registry had previously been in sale talks with neighbouring Thomas Telford School that indicated an interest in acquiring the site as part of expansion of the academy, in Oldpark. However, the school changed its mind in favour of developing a new careers' block on its current site.
