Ms Allan, who is a committed Brexiteer, has faced online queries over whether she would be supporting the Brexit Party in the May 23 election.

The questions had come after she retweeted praise of a party political broadcast from the Brexit Party on Twitter.

Ms Allan had included her own comment "we deserve to be heard", with the tweet.

Asked which way she would be voting in the European elections the Telford MP said: "As a Conservative Member of Parliament I will support all candidates standing on a Conservative manifesto.”

Praised

It is not the first time Ms Allan has appeared to express some form of support for the Brexit Party.

Last month she retweeted an article on Twitter which praised five "excellent candidates" for the Nigel Farage-fronted party.

Speaking at the time, Ms Allan said that she welcomed candidates that support leaving the EU, given that her own constituency had vote to leave in the EU referendum.

She said: "If European elections are held, leave-supporting voters will want to vote for leave-supporting candidates.

"Given these unprecedented times, tribal party politics will be eclipsed by the leave/remain divide in an EU election. We were supposed to have left the EU on March 29 and we are now planning for EU elections.

"We should not be participating in these elections.

"The Brexit Party has some strong candidates for the EU elections – as a leave-supporting MP in a leave-supporting constituency, that is to be welcomed."

The issue of Conservatives supporting the Brexit Party has come into even sharper focus in recent days after polls revealed that the Tory party had dropped to fifth place ahead of the Euro elections, with Farage's party leading the way.
