Buy British food and abolish business rates to boost county, says Starmer during visit
Sir Keir Starmer called for people to buy locally produced food to support the economies in rural areas such as Shropshire.
The Labour leader told the Shropshire Star that rural communities would play a crucial role in Britain's economic regeneration.
During a visit to the region, Sir Keir also said a future Labour government would abolish business rates to revitalise villages and market towns.
He said tackling the shortage of affordable housing in rural areas would also be a priority.
