Three candidates, two seats available.

Jayne Greenaway (incumbent), Conservative

Jayne Greenaway

Our area is very diverse, in that we have a large proportion of new developments surrounded by small existing communities, all with different needs.

It is vitally important that services can keep pace with the needs of existing and new residents’ requirements.

I will continue to champion local issues for local people. Fight for provision and choice in schools, local healthcare and community facilities.

We have seen a reduction in public transport routes and I believe there is a greater need to provide a good service which connects our communities to places of education and employment. I will continue to lobby for improvements to support all.

I have fought for the retention and maintenance of Green Open Spaces, Green Networks and Public Rights of Way through the planning process. I will continue to campaign for improvements which benefit the health and well-being of residents.

I will continue to volunteer, support and promote volunteers and groups who offer a wide range of opportunities for residents.

Supporting our local parish councils and working closely together can achieve real local improvements. I hope to be able to continue this work.

Raj Mehta (incumbent), Labour

Raj Mehta

Raj is proud to have represented Horsehay, Lawley and Lightmoor and wants to continue serving the community in which he lives and loves. Raj has worked in the NHS for over 20 years and his wife is a local GP. He pledges to work tirelessly to defend our local hospital services and protect the services which local people need.

Since being elected in 2016, Raj has listened to the concerns of residents and has acted on these. Raj has worked closely with partners, organising community clean-up projects with voluntary groups and days out for senior residents. Raj is a supporter of the Horsehay Village Steam Trust and has secured funding for them and the Horsehay Village Hall.

Raj has fought hard to get a better deal for local residents and has secured a two-year freeze on the stewardship charge for Bourneville Village Trust residents in Lawley and Lightmoor. Raj is campaigning to have this further reduced in future and promises to deliver on this if re-elected.

Raj is passionate about road safety and secured record investment in road safety outside Lawley and Lightmoor Primary schools.

If re-elected, Raj is committed to continuing to deliver for local residents and being a strong voice for Horsehay, Lightmoor and Lawley.
