Dave Wright (incumbent), Conservative
I am Dave Wright, born in Meriden, Warwickshire and I have been living in Telford since 1996. I was a solider for 35 years, resigning in 1999 to work with EDS/Capgemini on the HMRC account. Interested in local government politics since 2004, whilst all my family were Labour, and I sort of followed them, I started to find that most of my values were shared with the Conservatives.
I represented Madeley and Sutton from 2007 to 2011 then had a bad time with my health, having had a heart attack, but I was fighting fit again, retired from Capgemini in 2012 and found that I had more time for politics. Standing in 2015 and was grateful that the people of Madeley and Sutton Hill re-elected me.
It has been a busy four years and I have been active on the following committees: Shropshire Pensions, Audit, Scrutiny, Meeting Point House and Appeals, attended the majority of the Full Council meetings plus helping residents who asked for my help.
Being a councillor on the opposition benches is hard because you are always trying to ensure the administration is held to account and that decisions are in the interest of our residents. With your support I will keep on fighting for you the residents of Madeley and Sutton Hill.
