Davidsons Developments Limited has submitted a planning application for the houses on land to the north-west of Greenfields Farm Shop, in Station Road, Donnington.

The outline planning application says that the site "benefits from a good provision of local facilities", including two medical practices with 15 or 20-minute walks and two primary schools within a similar distance.

The plans describe the site as "two fields maintained as arable farmland".

There are hedgerows around the perimeter of the site which "need to be maintained where possible".

The application says that "high quality new homes can be provided with a mix of house types and tenures suitable to the needs and aspirations of local people" and that "the site is within a sustainable location for residential development".

It says that a mix of properties would be built, from smaller two and three bedroom houses for first time buyers, as well as larger three, fur and five bedroom homes, and that the scale of the development will be "in keeping with the local area".

It is proposed that there would be two car parking spaces provided for the two and three bedroom homes, a single garage and two parking spaces for the four bedroom homes and a double garage and two spaces for the five bedroom homes.

New green spaces would be provided within the site under the plans.

But the plans describe that the site is partly within a flood risk zone, which is associated with the Humber Brook running along the sites south west boundary. The Humber Brook would be realigned to become the focus of the proposed green space, removing the proposed housing cell from any risk of flooding.

The application will be decided by Telford & Wrekin Council in the coming months.
