Telford & Wrekin Council's housing company Nuplace has submitted a planning application for the first site to be brought forward following cabinet approval for the expansion of its project earlier this year.

Following a public consultation event to on the proposals for the development of 39 homes at a new site off Snedshill Way, St Georges last month, the planning application will now be considered by the council.

The plans are for a range of two, three and four bedroom homes, which will be built by Nuplace’s development partner Lovell, and made available for rent.

Subject to planning permission, work would start on the site at the beginning of 2018, with the first homes ready for tenants to move into in Autumn 2019.

The site at Snedshill would be the seventh Nuplace site. Pool View in Randlay and Woodland Walk in Madeley are both complete and fully let, while The Oaklands in Dawley is still being built but its first tenants have already moved in.

A further three sites, Miners’ Walk in Madeley, Blossom Walk in Hadley and Springfields in Newport are under construction and have the last remaining properties available to reserve.

Jonathan Rowe, Director of Nuplace, said: “This promises to be an excellent development for St George’s and I look forward to receiving the outcome of the planning decision later in the year.”

“This new site will offer a wider mix and variety of new homes, helping to meet a growing demand for larger family rental homes in the borough.”
