The Uplands, in Wolverhampton Road, Shifnal was built in around 1840 before being orginally listed in 1986.
There have been some alterations over the past few decades, including removing internal walls and building a rear extension.
The site is around 1.3 acres; however the boundary was previously much larger and has been separated and developed over the years, with 300 houses being built in the gardens.
The site also previously had a full planning approval for an extra-care home coversion and extension scheme for 29 self contained apartments.
The Coach House, meanwhile, had planning approval for residential conversion in 2018 for two dwellings.
The new development will involve changing the use of the existing upstairs bedrooms into offices, while on the ground floor, the habitable areas will be changed to meeting rooms and the open-pan kitchen area will be break-out areas for staff.
The majority of the alterations will be to the furniture and fittings, such as the modern bathrooms and kitchen to suit the office use, which will be.
It is also proposed to resurface the drive and some of the grass area, proving a slightly larger parking area for up to 20 cars.
“By retaining the building’s historic fabric and character, we aim to contribute positively to the town’s built heritage while accommodating modern and suitable uses as well as providing a use which will ensure the continued upkeep and maintenance to a heritage asset,” said Ryan Taylor, of Tailored Designs Ltd.
