Your Eurovision party could have an extra dusting of tech this year, thanks to a new Alexa skill that enables the Echo smart speaker to discuss the song contest with you.

Amazon’s virtual assistant now has its own Eurovision app – or skill as they’re known on the Alexa platform – which includes trivia on the competition, links to Eurovision-themed playlists on Amazon Music Unlimited and updates on the latest news and results.

The music streaming service has all the tracks from this year’s entrants.

Users will even be able to ask Alexa what she thinks of the UK’s rivals in the competition by using the command “Alexa, what do you think of the Eurovision song from…?”.

Amazon also confirmed users will be able to stream audio of the entire live show and listen along if they’re away from the TV.

Amazon Echo and Alexa have proved a big hit with consumers since launching in the UK last year – the voice activated speaker can be used to play music, answer queries and control smart home products around the house.
