Microsoft is working on emoji and Edge browser improvements in new Windows 10 update
The latest preview build for Windows Insiders hints at lots more tweaks to the Microsoft browser.
Microsoft is testing a host of new features for its Microsoft Edge browser as part of its latest round of preview builds for Windows 10.
The tech giant uses its Windows Insider Program to test out experimental features for Windows 10 on users who sign up to be involved.
The latest preview build has now gone live, complete with a series of tweaks to the Edge web browser, including new tools which means settings can be transferred from other browsers, such as Google Chrome.
The build also includes improvements to e-publishing in Microsoft Edge, including the ability to highlight text and then copy it and ask Cortana – Microsoft’s smart virtual assistant.
New Ink Notes that can be handwritten and appear when users hover over the note button, has also been added.
The Favourites menu in Edge has also been improved as part of the update, offering a collapsible list of folders into which users can organise their favourites.
Support for a range of new Emoji has also been introduced, including new genie, fairy and zombie emoji for the first time.
The next full public release of a Windows 10 update is not expected until the autumn, and not all the features that appear within preview builds will make it to the final version of the software.
