In many ways it is the perfect marriage, both the game and the console it is now available on blur the lines between traditional static home console play and mobile gaming.

The Fortnite fanaticism looks set to continue.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate

The next instalment in the Nintendo battle series will be the company’s biggest ever and will include every single character that has ever appeared in a Super Smash Bros game.

It will be released in December.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country

A new expansion to the popular series that dives in the past of central character Jin and his homeland.

Due to launch in September it was another of the big battle titles Nintendo focused on during its showcase.

Daemon X Machina

A brand new battle game due in 2019, Daemon X Machina revolves around fully customisable mechs that players will be able to tailor to suit them.

Fast-paced and frenetic, it already looks an eye-catching addition to the Switch line-up.

Super Mario Party

Away from the epic battle titles, Super Mario Party was Nintendo’s way of showing off the Switch’s ability to be a social experience as well as a solo one.

The long-standing series will make the jump to the Switch complete with new mini-games and cool new mechanics to take advantage of multiple Switch Joy-Con controllers and console screens.
