See the beautiful pictures from the Digital Art Museum in Toyko
The newly launched museum is a place of wonder.
These are the first pictures from the newly-opened Digital Art Museum which has been set up in Tokyo.
Among the works are interactive pieces called a Forest Of Lamps and The Way Of The Sea Through The Memory of Topography – Colours Of Life.
Other works at the museum include Light Forest Three-Dimensional Bouldering and Athletics Forest.
The flagship museum has been established by developer Mori Building and art collective teamLab. And the results are breathtaking.
The 10,000 square foot space is undivided which means visitors are free to make their own way around the area and interact with the art – and each other – as they see fit.
The gallery contains some 50 interactive works across five zones.
“The interactive artworks have no borders separating them from the other works,” a statement from the Digital Art Museum read.
“Some extend beyond their installation rooms and into the corridors, some overlap with other works and some even fuse with other works.
“Since there are no boundaries, the immersive works keep the boundaries between people in a state of continuous flux.
“Vistors physically enter and explore the works as well as experience interactions with other visitors.”
“The result is a totally new kind of interactive digital art experience the likes of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world.”
Mori Building and teamLab want the museum, which opened on June 21, to increase the overall appeal of Tokyo.
