Instagram Direct adds voice messaging
Users can now send voice messages to friends through the chat section of the social media app.

Instagram has added the ability to send voice messages to its Instagram Direct feature, the chat section of the Facebook-owned app.
Users will be able to tap a microphone icon to record and send audio messages to their friends within conversations in Instagram Direct.
It will be the first time audio-only communications have been available in the app, and will begin rolling out on Monday, the social media app said.
The feature is similar to audio message functionality in another Facebook-owned communications app – WhatsApp.
Instagram has more than a billion active users.
