But free Sunday parking will be introduced in Whitchurch, Ellesmere, Wem and Market Drayton, despite the changes costing the public purse £218,000.
Reductions in Sunday parking charges are also planned for Oswestry, Bridgnorth and Ludlow, while Church Stretton and Much Wenlock will also benefit from free Sunday parking.
The changes, which will come into force from December 3 and bring about an end to free parking for the first hour, were backed yesterday by Shropshire Council's cabinet.
It means from Monday to Saturday fees will start at 10p for the first two hours.
