Man killed as car overturns near Clun
A man died in a crash today after the car he was travelling in overturned on a country road.
The crash happened at about 12.45am this morning on the A488 between Colebatch and Clun. Ambulance crews were unable to save the driver in the crash.
No one else was hurt in the crash.
Murray MacGregor, speaking for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said a rapid response vehicle and a paramedic area support officer attended the scene, along with police and fire crews.
He said: “On arrival, ambulance staff found a car that had overturned.
“Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that there was nothing that could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
“There was a concern that there might have been a second patient, but after a search of the immediate area by police and fire that was ruled out and ambulance resources were stood down,” he said.
West Mercia Police are keen to speak with anyone who saw the incident, who saw the vehicle, a Nissan Navara Aventura, and the manner in which it was being driven prior to the collision or who can help with the investigation.
