Car hits lamppost in Shrewsbury
A woman was taken to hospital after a car has hit a lamppost in Shrewsbury.
Emergency services were called to the scene on London Road about 1.40pm today.
Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called at 1.40pm to the scene . One ambulance has attended and has transported a patient to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
"It was a collision between a car and a lamppost.
"A woman driver of the car has chest and back pain, was immobilised and taken to hospital."
Two fire engines were also sent to the scene to make the vehicle and scene safe.
