A5 roadworks and traffic delays at Oswestry expected to last two months
Motorists using the A5 north of Oswestry could be set for delays later this month as work is carried out on waste water pipes.
Welsh Water are carrying out works starting from November 13, with the works likely to be finished by the end of January next year.
The work will be on upgrades to the waste water mains which run underneath the A5 from the Halton roundabout near Chirk towards Llangollen.
Most of the work will be carried out within the surrounding fields, however work will be done on a section that goes under the A5.
Welsh Water have been liasing with the landowner of the fields and will be sending out information letters to local residents to fully inform them of the scheduled upgrades.
The water company have been working closely with organisations to minimise disruption during the process.
A spokesperson for Welsh Water said: “We have been working closely with the local highways department and the North and Mid Wales Trunk Roads Association to plan the work.
“To make sure our staff, motorists and the general public are safe at all times there will be traffic management on the A5 during the work,” the spokesperson added.
“We will be contacting the emergency services to keep them informed.”
