Driver suffers head injury as car hits wall on A529 near Market Drayton

A man in his 60s was taken to hospital with a head injury after his car hit a wall on the A529 near Market Drayton today.

The road was shut at Woodseaves, with drivers urged to avoid the area.

West Midlands Ambulance spokesman Jamie Arrowsmith said: "A call was made at 9.40 this morning regarding the A459 near to the Four Halls Inn.

"This was an incident involving a car that had collided with a wall. An ambulance attended and we have treated the driver, a man aged in his 60s for a head injury. He was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment."

The Market Drayton safer neighbourhood team was also on the scene. Officers said the road could be shut for some time.
