Chemical spill closes A41 after crash near Market Drayton
A chemical spillage closed the A41 near Market Drayton today, causing major delays for motorists.
It was caused by a crash involving an articulated vehicle at Bletchley.
Emergency services attended at about 12.20pm, including fire crews from Market Drayton, Prees, Tweedale and Whitchurch.
Market Drayton firefighters tweeted:
The environmental protection unit and operations and hazardous materials officers were also in attendance.
Emergency services diverted drivers away from the area.
Also on the scene were officials from the environment agency, West Mercia Police and Shropshire Council.
