Wem bridge damaged in lorry crash opens ahead of schedule
Work to repair a damaged bridge after a lorry crashed into it has finished ahead of schedule.
Soutlon Bridge, which carries the B5065 over Soulton Brook, near Wem, shut on September 3 for repair works to be carried out.
The bridge parapet was badly damaged in November 2017 after a heavy goods vehicle crashed into the upstream parapet.
Work was expected to take about six weeks but Shropshire Council said it has been completed early.
A spokesman said: "Work to repair Soulton Bridge was completed by October 9. The temporary traffic management was removed on Wednesday - earlier than programmed."
