Future of Shropshire buses to be discussed at AGM
Bus Users Shropshire is meeting to discuss the future of buses in Shropshire at their annual general gathering in Shrewsbury on Saturday.
The group has launched a campaign to fight many of the bus cuts proposed by Shropshire Council and has invited Professor John Whitelegg to talk about his latest report Shropshire Rural Buses which illustrates how buses could be organised to serve the needs of people going about their daily business.
Harold Bound, chairman of Bus Users Shropshire said: “If people are affected by the proposed cuts to services they are welcome to come along to discuss the problems they are likely to encounter and how we can help them.
"The council has issued a public consultation and I would urge people to submit their views to the passenger transport team by emailing passtrans@shropshire.gov.uk or write to them at the Shirehall, Shrewsbury SY2 6ND.”
The Shropshire Bus Users Meeting is at The Loopy Shrew, 15/17 Bellstone, at 11am.
