Cyclist taken to hospital after crash involving moped near Shropshire/Wales border

A cyclist was taken to hospital after a crash which also involved a moped, police said.

Chirk Road at Gledrid, close to the roundabout with the A5 near Chirk, was shut for more than an hour after a crash at about 6pm yesterday evening.

A police spokesperson said that a cyclist and a moped were involved in the crash, and that the cyclist was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital to get treatment for their injuries.

Several emergency service vehicles were seen in the area for some time immediately following the accident, which took place in the early evening close to the Gledrid roundabout on the busy A5 close to the Shropshire border with Wales.
