Biker dies after Highland road crash

No other vehicles were involved in the collision near Inchnadamph in Sutherland on Tuesday.

A motorcyclist has died following a road crash in Sutherland.

The collision happened on the A837 near the hamlet of Inchnadamph on Tuesday.

The 52-year-old man was travelling north towards Lochinver when the crash occurred at around 3pm. No other vehicles were involved.

The biker was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where he died on Wednesday.

Sergeant Donnie Mackinnon said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time for them.

“We are carrying out inquiries to establish the full circumstances of the collision and would urge anyone who may have any information to come forward.

“The road was closed until around 8.30pm to allow for an investigation at the scene and I would thank anyone affected by this for their patience and understanding.”
