George Osborne has added yet another string to his career bow by taking up the role as an honorary professor of economics at the University of Manchester.

That is now the sixth post the former chancellor has taken up since quitting politics.

He is also editor of the Evening Standard newspaper, an adviser to investment management firm BlackRock, chairman of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership, a fellow at US think tank the McCain Institute, and makes lucrative after-dinner speeches around the world for the Washington Speakers Bureau.

And to be honest, people are feeling a bit worried for their own job security.
