Food bank bird cynicism
With all due respect to Sir Ian ‘Beefy’ Botham, I strongly doubt whether he cares at all about the people using the food banks he and his ‘shooting enthusiast’ friends plan to donate game birds to.
I have not read a single news report concerning his plan where he wonders aloud why we live in a society where so many have so little that they rely on food banks in the first place, whilst so few have so much that they take to ‘sports’ like game shooting to pass the time.
With August 12 less than a fortnight away, Perhaps he saw the desperation of both people on the bread line and animals in the firing line as nothing more than a public relations opportunity to benefit both himself and his partners in senseless slaughter.
