'Councils lack common sense' - Your Letters: January 30
COUNCIL RUBBISH ON THE BASICS
Why is it councils seem to lack the most basic elements of common sense?
I refer of course to the recent booking in systems.
I see, according to what I read in the Star, 27 January, that the policy has resulted in a 20 per cent increase of fly tipping and a reduction of visits.
I have three questions to ask on the matter:
Firstly, how much recyclable material which at present cannot be put in our bins is being lost because of these changes?
Why didn't the council listen when they were told that the imposition of this system would result in exactly what is happening now?
Will they reverse their costly decision?
I certainly won't hold my breath for an answer.
