The Remembrance Day was also an occasion for people to mark the 25th anniversary of the Falklands War.

Shropshire's biggest ceremony was in Shrewsbury. Robin Hooper, chief executive of Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council, said: "Hundreds of people lined the streets for the parade, attended the service in St Chad's Church and respected the silence at the war memorial."
