Skoda won an award for their innovative, mouth-watering cake advert to promote the New Fabia, which first aired in May of this year. To make the car, a talented team of artisans used 100kg of flour and 10kg of white chocolate, among other ingredients. You can attempt to recreate the Fabia cake by following this recipe. nextpage
French international football star Thierry Henry took over the ad campaign for the Renault Clio in 2002, in a series of adverts where he attempted to define the term 'Va Va Voom'. The phrase actually made it into the 2005 version of the Concise Oxford English Dictionary, defined as "The quality of being exciting, vigorous or sexually attractive."nextpage
One of the most popular car adverts on television has been Citroen's 'Dancing Robot' character, used for their C4 advertising campaign. The award-winning advert - the first in a series - featured the robot busting some serious dance moves to the infectiously catchy 'Jacques Your Body' by Les Rythmes Digitales. The advert sent the song straight into the top ten of the UK charts.nextpage
Citroen also struck gold in 2005 when they re-introduced stars from the hit 70s TV show 'Happy Days' into their campaign to promote the new C3 supermini range. Created in the UK, the advert featured the heads of Happy Days cast members, digitally transplanted onto the bodies of actors.nextpage
Cartoon favourites Tom and Jerry made a comeback for Ford's 2003 Mondeo advert, in which the celebrated cat and mouse team were featured in a classic chase scene. The animation was created specifically for the advert in just four weeks.nextpage
Papa and Nicole were one of the most memorable duos on television in the early 90s. The French father and daughter team launched the Renault Clio in 1991 and starred together in a series of Clio ads up until 1998. The advert was later voted by the British public as their favourite car commercial of all time in the 2000 Channel 4 and Sunday Times poll.nextpage
Perhaps cleverest of all was Ford's February ad campaign featuring parts of the new Focus which had been turned into musical instruments and played by professional musicians in an orchestra. 21 parts, including a Transmission Case Cello (above), a Clutch Guitar and a Fender Bass were used in the masterpiece, created by film composer Craig Richey and sound designer Bill Millbrodt.
