Shropshire Council today agreed to create an "all through" school for the village of St Martins, near Oswestry.

The decision by Shropshire Council's Cabinet means Ifton Heath Primary School will close, with the new school to be created on the existing Rhyn Park Secondary School site.

However, Ifton Heath has applied for academy status which would free it from Shropshire Council control.
