Gold medalist pays Market Drayton school a visit
Shropshire's Paralympic gold medal-winning archer Danielle Brown MBE has been passing on her tips to youngsters.
Danielle led two assemblies at Market Drayton Junior School in which she talked about the principles of motivation, self-esteem, success and achievement.
Danielle won gold in both the Beijing and London Paralympics and became a three times world champion. She was also the first English disabled athlete to compete for the able bodied team for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Samantha Taylor, year four teacher, said: "From the moment Danielle began her assembly the children were hooked and had so many questions to ask her.
"All of the children left the assembly feeling motivated and inspired and it was lovely to hear them all talking about their experience."
Ms Taylor added: "Following the assembly, the sports committee spent some time with Danielle talking to her about her achievements, asking her questions about her career and telling her about some of our schools achievements in sport."
