Drug abuse workers in the town say the class C drugs GHB and GHL have overtaken the use of other illegal drugs in the town with increasing numbers of people seeking help. They say the town is one of only a few areas in the country that seems to have this level of the problem. Jayne Randall, Shropshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team team leader, said: "We are having a number of people coming to our treatment team showing signs of dependency and the drugs appear to be more available in the Oswestry area. "We haven't had a death yet but we are trying to warn the public of Oswestry area that just because it is a class C drug it doesn't mean it isn't dangerous."
