A 24-year-old former Shrewsbury man has been killed in a head-on collision with a lorry in Cornwall. A 24-year-old former Shrewsbury man has been killed in a head-on collision with a lorry in Cornwall. Sam Wentworth, who was a student at Meole Brace School and Shrewsbury College, died at the scene of the accident between Bodmin and Liskeard. Mr Wentworth's family were not at their home in Shrewsbury today, but close friend James Wood today paid tribute to the clothing store manager. Mr Wentworth was a keen traveller who also enjoyed mountain biking and football, Mr Wood said. Read the full story in the Shropshire Star

The family of a 24-year-old found dead in a Telford flat today paid tribute to a "happy, caring man who loved his family". The family of a 24-year-old found dead in a Telford flat today paid tribute to a "happy, caring man who loved his family". Thomas Mackie, pictured, was discovered in his home in Dalford Court, Hollinswood, last month. An inquest was opened yesterday, with the cause of death given as morphine poisoning. Dawn Barrowman, Mr Mackie's aunt, said her nephew was not a drug user and his death had come as a "terrible shock" to the family. "Thomas was a happy, caring man, who loved his family and was never happier than when everyone was around him," she said. Read the full story in the Shropshire Star
