Nearly 20 firefighters were called to help stop oil spilling into drains and water supplies after a 250-gallon oil tank burst at a Shropshire home. The heating tank at a home in Cooks Cross in Alveley, near Bridgnorth, split at its base at about 7.40pm yesterday. A total of 17 firefighters from Bridgnorth and Tweedale in Telford were called to the scene in an attempt to prevent the oil spilling into drains and the water supply.
