Accident could have killed baby say family after car narrowly misses house

A 12-week-old baby boy 'could have been killed' after a car ploughed through walls just yards from the living room he was playing in. Little Austin Challinor was in the front room at his family's home in Jeffcock Road, Pennfields, on Friday afternoon when the car smashed through walls, coming to rest in the front yard. Also in the house was his elder sister Madison, three, and mother Marie, who turned 32 the following day. The driver was helped from the wreckage by members of the public, but fled before the emergency services arrived. Full-time mother Marie told the Express & Star of her horror after the crash, which happened shortly before 2pm yesterday. [figure caption="The damaged car following the crash. My son was in the front room, he could have been killed. "It was frightening. Hopefully the police find him." Police also confirmed the driver fled and that no arrest had yet been made.
