The assault is believed to have occurred on a grassed area between Withywood Drive and Southwater Way in Malinslee - an area known as The Mound. Cash stolen as thieves trick man

Thieves tricked their way into the home of an elderly man and made off with cash. Police said a caller posing as a water official conned his way into the home in St George's Place, Clun. A second man slipped upstairs unnoticed and a quantity of money was later found to be missing. A special radio has been stolen from a hot air balloon which landed in fields near Oswestry. A special radio has been stolen from a hot air balloon which landed in fields near Oswestry. The air band radio was taken as the pilot and passengers deflated the balloon at about 7.30pm on Wednesday, in a field at Pradoe Hall, West Felton. Pilot Russell Collins said used in the wrong hands it could clog up the air waves that had to be kept free for emergencies. Anyone who has spotted the black radio, which looks like a large mobile phone with a rubber aerial, should call West Mercia Police on 08457 444 888.

A murder investigation has been launched after the death of a 62-year-old man whose body was found in the River Severn.A murder investigation has been launched after the death of a 62-year-old Stourport man whose body was found in the River Severn. West Mercia Police confirmed today that they were treating the death of Reginald Southall as murder. His body was found in the River Severn on December 16. Mr Southall, who lived in the Redstone Lane area of Stourport, was last seen at about 6.45pm on December 4, last year. His wife, who police have not named, had been out for a walk with Mr Southall and after she returned home Mr Southall continued walking alone. His wife subsequently reported him missing the following day. But as a result of "significant new information" police said today they were renewing appeals for sightings of Mr Southall before his disappearance on the evening of December 4, 2007.
