Members at last night's full town council meeting claimed cars parked in loading bays outside the Spar shop in Scotland Street, were not being dealt with, yet vehicles which were not obstructing traffic elsewhere were being issued with parking tickets. Councillor Lynne Davies told the meeting she had been issued with a fixed penalty notice while her car was parked outside her home, and had been advised by ParkRight staff not to have a car. Keys Childcare, based in Yorkshire, previously had an application to redevelop the property in Albert Road, Oldbury, thrown out by Sandwell Council planning committee members. The original application was turned down last year amid complaints from concerned neighbours who feared that the house would be a magnet for anti-social behaviour and would reduce local house prices. Many people in the area were unable to receive BBC1 and were experiencing problems with the signal from the mast on top of The Wrekin. A spokeswoman for the corporation said the issue was down to the high temperatures and particularly high pressure.
