The Mahindra Scorpio car is manufactured in Jalandhar, Punjab, and is believed to be the only one of its type in this country. The Hummer-style car can seat up to eight people and took 25 days to ship over to the home of the Pal family, who live in Tipton. The family, who own Silver Line Taxis, usually only buy British-made cars but saw the Mahindra Scorpio when visiting family in the Punjab. The smitten family decided they had to have one of their own. As well as paying for the car itself, the Pals also had to spend more than £4,000 on shipping the vehicle over. And they paid for CCTV cameras at their home to protect it from thieves. Koshall Pal, of Horseley Road, said the car had been attracting a lot of attention on the streets of Tipton.
