The choir's programme of music, ranging from Queen to Puccini, showed its versatility and struck exactly the right chord with the audience of about 900 people who packed the auditorium. Celebrity compere Carl Chinn brought his own particular brand of enthusiasm and anecdotes to the evening and despite a bout of tonsillitis Pam delighted the crowd with a mix of her earlier poems, such as I wished I'd Looked After My Teeth, and more recent works from her latest book, Surgically Enhanced.
