A murder investigation has been launched after the death of a 62-year-old man whose body was found in the River Severn.A murder investigation has been launched after the death of a 62-year-old Stourport man whose body was found in the River Severn. West Mercia Police confirmed today that they were treating the death of Reginald Southall as murder. His body was found in the River Severn on December 16. Mr Southall, who lived in the Redstone Lane area of Stourport, was last seen at about 6.45pm on December 4, last year. His wife, who police have not named, had been out for a walk with Mr Southall and after she returned home Mr Southall continued walking alone. His wife subsequently reported him missing the following day. But as a result of "significant new information" police said today they were renewing appeals for sightings of Mr Southall before his disappearance on the evening of December 4, 2007. A bogus charity collector who tricked cash out of Hagley residents claiming it was for a sponsored run in memory of her father is now thought to be targeting Wordsley. A string of Wordsley residents have reported handing over cash to a woman using the same con. Mary McGeehan, of High Street, Wordsley, said: "I lost my husband to cancer so I sympathised, but if she is not genuine then I do not think it is very funny." Mrs McGeehan said she handed over £5 to the woman before hearing about the con that had been used to trick residents in nearby Hagley. Now she believes she and her neighbours, who also handed over cash, have become the latest victims. She said: "It is the exact same story and she fits the description given by the police in Hagley." A motorcyclist and a motorist have been killed in separate accidents in the Kidderminster area. A motorcyclist died in a crash with a car in Heronswood Road, Spennells, at around 7am this morning. The tragedy involved a red Honda ridden by a local man believed to be in his 30s. Paramedics treated the man for multiple injuries but he was declared dead at the scene. A woman driving the car was not injured. It was the second tragedy on Worcestershire roads within a few hours. Last night a man in his 30s died when his 4x4 Nissan Navara struck a tree and overturned close to Hawford School on the A449 near Ombersley at around 10.40pm. Detectives investigating an armed robbery on a Shropshire post office today appealed for a man seen near the building at the time of the raid to come forward. The man was stood alone on the pavement across the road from Low Town Post Office, in Bridgnorth, when armed robbers held it up at 9.15am on Friday. Police today said they wanted to speak to the man to establish whether he was involved in the crime or was merely a passerby. He is described as white, youthful looking, probably aged in his late teens or early 20s. He is about 5ft 7ins, of slim build and was wearing light denim jeans.

It happened at about 8pm yesterday near the telephone kiosk in Hazel Grove. The teenager managed to shake himself free and run from the scene. Police said he was unhurt, but was left frightened.
