Casey O’Gorman returns to the villa on Love Island: All Stars ‘more open minded’
The show also saw Marcel Somerville bury the hatchet with Gabby Allen.
Former Love Island contestant Casey O’Gorman has returned to the villa in Tuesday’s episode of the show’s all stars edition saying he is now “more open-minded”.
The 28-year-old first appeared on the ninth series of the standard version of the ITV show and series one of Love Island: All Stars.
Speaking about his return, O’Gorman said: “Getting to go in within the first few days of the show, I feel like I’ve got such a big opportunity to find someone and hopefully come out of the villa potentially with a girlfriend.
“Every situationship you have, or every relationship you have, you learn about yourself and you improve on yourself. This time I want to be more open-minded.
“I think I had such a type and thought, ‘I need to be attracted to a blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl’, but now I want to just be open and care more about personality rather than looks this time.
“It’s all about energy. They’ve got to be matching my energy. They’ve got to be similar to me, into the same sort of things as me.”
He arrived in the show, greeting his fellow islanders by shouting “I’m back”, while Olivia Hawkins replied “not again”.
In the episode, Ekin-Su Culculoglu, who won the eighth series of the show in 2022 alongside Italian former partner Davide Sanclimenti and returned in Monday’s episode, decided to go on a group date with three islanders, Ronnie Vint, Scott Thomas and Curtis Pritchard, telling them “Ekin boys let’s go”.
She whisked them away, while the rest of the girls worried if their own couplings were at risk, but were impressed by her arrival.
Fellow islander Kaz Crossley said: “She’s so confident, I love that.”
India Reynolds added: “She’s sexy, she’ll go for it.”
Culculoglu eventually decided to couple up with Pritchard, leaving his original partner Crossley single.
The decision left the group shocked as they all thought the star would pick Thomas.
The show also saw Marcel Somerville and ex-girlfriend Gaby Allen bury the hatchet, after he was told “it’s nice to see you, but I also think you’re a knob” by Allen when the pair reunited on the series’ launch episode.
The pair partnered up on the 2017 edition of the show where they came fourth, and became a couple outside the villa for around a year before splitting.
Tuesday’s episode saw them coupled up, meaning they would have to spend a bed together that evening.
Speaking about the public coupling them up, Allen, 32, joked: “They’re so used to seeing us together, never thought I’d share a bed with you again.”
But Somerville, 39, became emotional at the news, saying: “I feel better saying the things I should have said then. I’m getting emotional.”
The duo agreed to keep things amicable between them, but worried that getting along may give the other islanders the wrong idea.
But the former Blazin’ Squad member later offered to speak to Allen as “Dr Marcel”, to which she replied: “You got sacked, hun, you are not Dr Marcel.”
The second series of Love Island: All Stars, based in South Africa, sees the return of famous faces including Pritchard, who appeared in series five, and Thomas, who was in series two.
Also in this year’s line-up is: series six islander Nas Majeed; series nine star Hawkins; series eight islander Luca Bish; Crossley from series four; series five islander Reynolds; series 11 contestant Vint; and series 10’s Catherine Agbaje.
The spin-off show sees former contestants return to the villa once again to try and find love.
Love Island: All Stars returns at 9pm on Tuesday on ITV2 and ITVX.
