Fresh water boosts catches on Severn
The Severn has at last benefited from some fresh water after the long hot spell, and provided another "tandem ton" frame in the latest Bridgnorth afternoon open. Local rod Nick Gretton (Bridgnorth) led the winning list with 113-10-0 by hauling in 26 barbel and a few chub from peg 30 at the island.
Pellet feeder got the fish going for Nick, and for runner up Nobby Burns (Heathway Tackle).
He wasn't bothered that his weight came second, and was more than happy with his first "ton" from the river when his 24 barbel from the channel, added up to 105-6-0.
