Look what I've brought home!
Shropshire's Ian Woosnam hands over the Ryder Cup captaincy to Nick Faldo with European golf riding the crest of a wave. The former Llanymynech and Oswestry star led Europe to an 18.5 to 9.5 victory at Dublin's K Club to seal a third straight cup triumph.
He later admitted the responsibility of the job made him a worried man from the day he was appointed.
"Eighteen months ago when they asked me, any victory would be fantastic. To walk away with the same record Bernhard Langer had is unbelievable. It's a dream come true for me.
"I've been worried about it for 18 months because it's an unbelievable responsibility to be a captain.
"It's all right standing there as a player (as he did eight times) because the only person you can let down is yourself."
"I've won many tournaments around the world, I won a major, I've been number one in the world and I've got to say this is the pinnacle of my life."
Former Lilleshall Hall star Peter Baker, who served as one of Woosnam's vice-captains, said: "I know what he has gone through. I have been part of that a little bit.
"All the time the bottom line was that he did the best for the team. I know there was a bit of flak flying round, and I know he is not the greatest speaker in the world, but every time he spoke it was sincere.
"He did fantastically well. He spoke well, he spoke from the heart."
