Eagles looking to soar
Oswestry just about kept up their momentum from the week before as they beat Wallasey 17-13 in South Lancs/Cheshire 2 - thanks to a last minute try. The Eagles had lost their first two games but have now won two on the trot to move up into fourth place in the early league table.
The Os made hard work of it against a Wallasey team that have now lost all three games they have played so far this season.
Wallasey had opened a six-point lead before an Andy Howell penalty reduced the deficit going inot the break.
A James Martin try, converted by Howell, put the hosts ahead for the first time but Wallasey hit back. It needed a last-minute try from Dan Munro, converted again by Howell, to secure the victory.
Clee Hill's tough start to the Midland 6 West (SW) campaign continued as they fell to a 37-14 defeat at Redditch.
They conceded four first half half tries but improved after the break to make more of a game of it.
Toby Higginson and Andrew George each ran in tries, with Higginson converting both. But Redditch scored a late try to make sure of the win. Popular stories:
