That has put them firmly in contention for a play-off place, and the team selectors are not about to start messing with a winning formula now.

Just one change is made to team that beat Aspatria last week, with the unavailable Chris Hilliker replaced by Mike Swetman in the centre.

"It's the last game of the first half of the season and we want to stay on the winning run we've been on," said club president John Gregory.

"Bowdon are a funny sort of side. They were down at the bottom, then they won a few games, but now they've had a bad patch again.

"They've got home advantage, so we'll be taking them very seriously."

Despite their current lofty perch, the north Shropshire outfit still have a negative points difference - and that's something they'd like to put right this weekend.

"We had one nasty game away at Lymm where we lost 44-7," recalled Gregory. "It was quite close in the second half but we had a bad day in the first half.

"Points difference could be important at the end of the season. Ours is currently minus-four so we'd like to turn that around."

Relegation threatened Luctonians face a difficult Midlands One match when they take on Walsall at Mortimer Park.

Walsall are two points clear of Luctonians, who badly need a victory to ease their relegation worries.

"A win will be worth four points to the winning team," said Lucs spokesman Robin East. "The game against Walsall is one we have targeted to win and if we succeed it will give us a big boost.

"Although we went down at Luton we are starting to play a lot better."

Wing forward Matt Cornish, who marked his debut with a try against Luton, is expected to retain his place in the squad.
