Star keeper Matt Murray today handed Wolves a huge boost ahead of their crunch promotion run-in by insisting he will be fit to face Southampton. That come only days after Murray had jarred his knee in last week's defeat by Coventry, hobbling through the closing minutes at the Ricoh Arena.

But the 25-year-old is planning to take full advantage of the international break by resting the joint over the next fortnight to ensure he's ready to face the Saints.

"I'm fine really, there's noÊproblem," said Murray. "I just needed a bit of extra time after jarring my knee at the end of the Coventry game.

"I rested the knee on Wednesday and Thursday and then I did some work on Friday, and felt it would be alright.

"But during the early stages of the Sheffield game I was feeling a bit uncomfortable and became worried that I might cost the team if I continued to play, so I came off at half-time."

Murray was replaced at Hillsborough by on-loan Jan Budtz, who yesterday extended his loan stay at Molineux until the end of April.

And he was pleased to see the Doncaster keeper play his part in Wolves return from South Yorkshire with a point.

"Jan came on and did really well," added Murray. "I know we conceded early on in the second-half but it was a great goal and he couldn't do a lot about it."
