Whitcurch Rugby Club are returning to their Midlands roots next season after two years playing in the North set-up.

The Reds have been switch from North 2 West into the Midlands equivalent as the make-up of next season's divisions is finalised.

The Edgeley Park men were moved north two years ago, suffering relegation in their first North 1 campaign.

They now hope to return to the top level of regional rugby by winning promotion in their first year back in the Midlands fold.

Shropshire representation has also been swelled by the addition of Highley.

They were formed last year and enter league rugby for the first time in Midlands Six West (South West) - where one of their rivals will be neighbours Clee Hill.

Promoted Newport will head the Shropshire challenge as they compete in Midlands 1 for the first time.

There are plenty of derbies in store in Midlands 3 West (North), with relegated Bridgnorth joining Ludlow and Shrewsbury.

Telford Hornets and Bishop's Castle remain in Midlands 5 West (North), while Cleobury Mortimer have been relegated to Midlands Five West (North).

Market Drayton and Gnosall will lock horns once again in Midlands 6 West (North).

Shropshire's sole remaining side in the North leagues is Oswestry.
