Barnett is new king of Castle

Shrewsbury Rugby Club have appointed Stuart Barnett as their new first team coach.

The club parted company with former coach George Armstrong last week after a poor start to the season.

Barnett was previously involved with the club's second team and has been given the task of guiding the Sundorne Castle side away from the bottom of the Midlands 3 West table.

Skipper Mattie Morris said: "He has come through the club and we have been impressed with how he has worked. We hope he can do something similar with the first team."

Barnett will take charge for the first time on Saturday when Shrewsbury play Aston Old Edwardians.
