Shropshire-based up-and-coming rugby ace Graham Kitchener has secured a new two-year contract with Worcester Warriors - but his exams still take priority.
The 18-year-old from Baschurch, near Shrewsbury, signed a deal with the Guinness Premiership outfit after originally joining four years ago and will take up a full time place after finishing his education next year.
Kitchener has also been called up for the England under-20 squad, but will miss next year's World Cup after discovering that the tournament clashes with his final A Level exams at Adams Grammar School.
His deal with Worcester was secured after some impressive performances in the Guinness A League - and the highly-rated lock is looking forward to a future at both club and international level.
He said: "I'm very honoured to be given this chance to be part of Worcester Rugby Club and hopefully during my time with them I will improve as a player and push for a place in the England under-20 squad."
The teenager also revealed that he wasn't expecting to be playing full time at such an early age: "It was a bit of a surprise to be offered a full time deal, so I am pleased.
"I have been involved with Worcester for ages, so it is very nice."
Worcester Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock, meanwhile, is hoping for big things from Kitchener.
He said: "I've been very impressed with Graham since I first saw him play for England against Wales under-16s and one of my sons a few years ago.
"He has got international height and size and international skill levels, so I'm predicting a big future for Graham."
Academy boss Andrew Stanley added: "We are delighted that Graham has committed his rugby future to Warriors and continues the relationship he has had with us since he was 14."
Kitchener - who is six foot six and weighs over 16st - began his rugby career with Shrewsbury and has previously been selected for England at under-16 and under-18 level.
The athletic forward also holds the distinction of being the only school student to have been selected for the under-20 squad, which is currently preparing for next year's World Cup.
