Shropshire-born flat jockey Royston Ffrench tasted Dubai delight yesterday.

Ffrench, who was born in Telford, partnered Sea Hunter to a surprise win in the feature event at Nad Al Sheba.

Although he was outpaced early on in the six-furlong conditions event, Sea Hunter made quick progress two furlongs out to lead within the distance and win comfortably.

Ffrench said: "That was a pleasing effort as he was struggling early on and would probably prefer further."

The surroundings may have been less exotic for Shropshire trainer Mark Brisbourne, but he would have been even more jubilant after entering the winner's enclosure twice inside 30 minutes at Wolverhampton last night.

Machinate won as a 5-2 favourite before Gamesters Lady was returned a 9-1 winner in the next, both ridden by Liam Jones.
