Training under lights - Newport players are put through their paces at Forton Road ahead of the big dayNewport Rugby Club were today finalising preparations for their date with sporting destiny.

The Forton Road men travel to Chester tomorrow for the semi-final of the EDF Intermediate Cup (3pm) knowing they are just 80 minutes away from reaching Twickenham.

A travelling army in excess of 200 are preparing to roar on Newport every step of the way against the North Two West high-fliers.

And coach Ginge Wills is confident his side can rise to what will be the biggest game of the careers for the vast majority of the Newport squad.

"They (Chester) will come out all guns blazing and they are a confident outfit," said the well-respected coach.

"But they are going to meet a side playing at an intensity they are not used to."
